During the past thirty years , video games have been steadily increasing in popularity . It has come to dominate the civilized world in which one can find , not only children but adults , and not only the male but the female , playing video games . Such is the popularity of video games that there are many platforms that exist today in the market with a wide range of game types : from simple puzzle games to sport games , and from simple adventure games to to games that feature violence .
