Proposal for promoting eBook Readers to address issue of decreasing trend of reading Introduction to the Proposal

We are observing declining trends in readership . People are moving further away from books and other print media preferring many other outlets for entertainment . A major reason is due to the cumbersome nature of books . If they were more compatible to carry around while one was busy with his /her work then book sales might see a returning increase in sales . For this purpose I propose governments , parents

schools and all concerned authorities to encourage the use of eBook readers . They can be easily carried and students and youngsters might get hooked onto reading via this new medium . The proposal will aim at convincing the concerned authorities of the seriousness of the issue the possible remedy for handling the situation and its subsequent advantages

With the advent of laptops , notebooks , palmtops and ipods , people have a variety of entertainment at their beck and call . With technology continuously shrinking , old fashioned mediums of entertainment are becoming apparently more difficult to manage . In this regard books are also becoming a burden to manage as people would prefer listening to their ipods or going on the internet with their blackberrys or laptops with wifi internet connections .
