Introduction

Communication is the most important aspect that determines the success of an individual in both professional and personal life . In a competitive global society , effective communication does not only mean a good knowledge of the spoken language but also its clear expression with supportive gestures and native phrases , after a thorough understanding of likes as well as dislikes of the audience . Interpersonal relationships nurture only when both the speaker and the listener are able to express their views , and perceive the other 's opinions without any ambiguity

Discussion

Different countries have contrasting cultures , and the same language can be interpreted differently in various societies . Hence , a clear perception of the language becomes essential , while dealing with different accents and nationalities . After reading the book , I have identified some of my weaknesses that were a hindrance to the process of clear perception . Since attentive listening of other 's opinions is the best complement to clear perception , I am focusing on enhancement of my listening skills . Whether it is a setting of my own native people , or a diversified group of multicultural people , I have learnt that patient listening enables me to perceive the ideas of others . Once I perceive the opinions of other people , I feel more confident to express my opinions persuasively
