Student needs must be met and how can I meet those needs ? I strongly believe that with this method I would guarantee that I would respond culturally , socially , and economically to a diverse variety of students . I believe that teaching is a true art form and must be based on transferring knowledge in an interesting and exciting way that inspires my students to want to learn more . My classroom management enforces those ideals . As teacher I have a specific set of expectations of students in my classroom . I believe that students should have and maintain a respectful relationship between peer , authority figures , and the teacher . They should have a real excitement for learning and also positive attitudes . I believe that parental support is extremely important in the success of a student in school . My approach to behavioral management is flexible but there are several behaviors I will not tolerate . Students should not be unkind in the classroom , they should not touch or break the materials present in the classroom , there will be no late or missing assignments , and indifference will not be tolerated . Alfie Kohn firmly believes that students need to be taught how to be responsible and respectful . Once this is accomplished , all other "content " can be learned at a more "reasonable " rate , with a greater threshold of proficiency . He states that "students behave more respectfully when important adults in their lives behave respectfully towed them . They are more likely to care about others if they know they are cared about (C .M . Charles , 2004 . The goal of education is to help students realize that they can think , learn , act , and change things . My approach to classroom design is traditional . I believe in the importance of two action zones . The primary area of the room will be where the majority of teaching occurs . The desks are positioned to make sure students receive the best possible view and teacher time while in this area . The second action zone faces an additional chalkboard on the right side of the room . This is useful because it changes up the routine of the classroom and can allow students who are normally in the back of the room to the front of the room with having to...
