Although television shows and video games offer some educational opportunities and hand to eye coordination training for the children , there have been increasing psychological test results indicating that over exposure to

both mediums cause children to develop and actually trigger certain violent tendencies

Violence in video games and television have become a part of our children 's daily lives . Television and videogames have become a medium of entertainment that seemingly promotes violence as an answer to life 's daily troubles . When an oppressed good person has had enough , he deals with his nemesis using fists and guns . Such actions educate a child to understand that only by being as violent as his nemesis will bring peace to his life . This leads children to believe that there is no other way to solve problems

The video gaming industry admits that not all video games are made for child 's play . According to Pancho Eekels , creative director for the company Digital Extremes , they consider the children when they are developing video games . He admits that not all these games are made for children and young gamers who are at a highly influential age should be shielded from such games . When interviewed for the Newmedia Journalist article Impact of Video Game Realism (2006 ) about what he thought about the supposition that videogames were influencing violence among the youth , he had this to say

Are we truly influencing our youth ? It 's sort of a weird thing to talk about actually because when we make games , we make them out of fun . And it 's kind of weird [that] anyone would point a finger at you saying you 're causing all these problems

Game developers would like us to believe that their games are being given a bad reputation by people who are looking for a scapegoat when it comes to the surge of violence among the youth of the nation . Claims from the gaming sector want us to believe that it is the parents job to insure that their child does not become violent because of the games that the children choose to play with . The game developers merely create enjoyable games . They continue to argue that although severely violent in content , the games do not tell the children to become violent . The stand of the game development community is that video game players are actually responsible people who can tell the difference between reality and playtime .
