What charateristics motivated me to apply to graduate school

I applied to Pepperdine because of a variety of reasons . First , I am very much influenced and motivated by certain characteristics of graduate school . Among these are the size and pace of the classes , the specific concentrations the school offers , the particular classes it offers , the location of the campus , and the length of time it takes to get back to full time employment

I like the fact that the location and proximity of the Pepperdine campus is such that it is near some major hiring firms . Relocating from the east coast

metropolitan area and living near large financial centers my whole life , I know how important it is to be near them for the huge employment opportunities they offer

Moreover , when I decided to enroll in a graduate school , I resolved to find a fast-paced , small learning environment that offers concentration in finance . I majored in finance in my undergraduate degree and have a passion for the subject . Moreover , since I just came from previous years of small classroom experience , I could readily imagine how easy it would be to learn and interact in a cozy and comfortable learning environment

I want to go to a school that offers a student investment fund because it offers lessons on hands-on portfolio knowledge and management , the development of the ability to interact with classmates as a team , and real money experience . I personally believe that one cannot truly understand markets unless he follows them day to day and invest in them When to buy , how long to hold each stock , how much profit is being greedy , and so many other questions must be researched and answered to run a good portfolio . Learning on just isn 't the same experience as investing real money . A team experience and group effort to the same common goal will let every student in the class meet and know each other well to hopefully form great future contacts

Leaving a five year real estate career , I have to be certain that if I give my all to a school , the school would hold its end of the bargain and provide a quality and advanced-paced learning environment . I sincerely believe that Pepperdine would offer such kind of environment Furthermore , given the access to the L .A metropolitan area , I am positive I will have ample opportunities to start a new finance career or successfully expand on my current real estate career

The Graziadio School offers a 12-month program . Coming from full time employment , the thought of studying again gives me the challenge to take it head on all at once . The 12-month program would give advanced-paced learning throughout the year so I could re-enter the fulltime workplace as soon as possible . I believe that the curriculum and top-notch teaching faculty would enhance my current business skill set , allowing me to go in with confidence to interview with top companies
