Around the world today , a number of international organizations have been formed to establish better opportunities and provide for protection for the various nations globally . Each of these organizations is unique from one another although a number of

The Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC

The Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf or GCC is a voluntary organization of six of the states in the gulf region namely Saudi Arabia , Kuwait , Oman , Bahrain , Oman , Qatar and the United Arab Emirates although Saudi Arabia is said to be the prime mover in setting up the Gulf Cooperation Council in 1981 (Gulf Cooperation Council - GCC , n .d

Oman 's motivation in joining the Cooperation Council is similarly anchored on issue of economic development and friendship issues (Gulf Cooperation Council , or GCC n .d

Bahrain

Along with Saudi Arabia , Bahrain is one of the more aggressive members of the Council . Similar with the other members , Bahrain joined the Cooperation Council for the same economy and friendship benefits . With Bahrain 's inclusion with the Council , it developed closer ties with all other members especially with Kuwait wherein in the 1990 Gulf War , it opened its ports and airfields in favour of Kuwait so that it can drive away the Iraqi troops from the Kuwaiti territory (Gulf Cooperation Council , or GCC , n .d
