Rights should be established to protect individuals from the worst market-economy consequences . Concerning work , this view would restrain private employment contracts while necessary , either by injecting into the employment relationship some rights enjoyed by individuals somewhere else in civic society or by forming specific new rights requisite to achieve what are deemed to be minimally adequate social outcomes . as equality as well as liberty should be protected , a somewhat diminished defense of liberty is essentially the price that should be paid for the increased protection of equality .
