This is written after listening to the program on the website of Justice talking after which I have determined if cameras are effective in battling crime . Moreover , I have also considered some of the questions to articulate my reasoning

I think that cameras do prevent crime but they are not very effective Cameras serve as an

effective tool to replicate the number of officers who are required to remain on the streets but for practical propose it is not a good idea and is not so easy to implement . Furthermore , the deployment of cameras requires 8 million that is actually a waste of resources . The goal is actually to cut down violent crimes but no studies have actually proven that cameras help in cutting down crime For instance , let us consider the example of London where tens of thousands of cameras all over London and it is estimated that an individual is seen in a camera about three hundred times in a day . Even an incident in London proves that they do not help in cutting down crime because the people actually needed the police to resolve the issues Therefore , the money that is spent on the cameras can be spent on something more productive (Haevey , 2007
