Cocoa is utilized as both food and cosmetic crop . It is used as chocolate , or extracted of its cocoa butter or fat either for consumption or as components of confections such as soap . Cocoa has been reported to be used as antiseptic , among its other remedial uses , such as for cough , dry lips

and skin , and snake bites , and even for taking care of wrinkles

Cocoa has many constituent chemicals . Among them , Theobromine and phenyl ethylamine are included . The two chemicals are important because they have the capacity to influence the mood of people who intake them , and also have significant medicinal effects . The edible pulp of the fruit contains 0 .75 theobromine , which acts similar to caffeine . Phenyl ethylamine is abundant in the human brain when we feel happy . This chemical can influence a persons happiness level when he intakes in a certain amount . According to the article , depressed people have irregular production of phenyl ethylamine . Chocolate is a possible medication . The article also discussed about the toxicity in which the caffeine like theobromine can harm and kill a human , which is at 1000 and 10000mg

Cocoa can also be utilized of its pods and branches . The ratio of seeds and pods are 1 part seed :2 parts pod /husk . Hence if the farm produces 1 Metric ton of seeds , there is a corresponding 2 Metric tons of husk . The constituents of which are very applicable as `pod meal ' and comparable in feeding value as the commercially available feed , corn meal . Prunings from older trees can also contribute to the farmer as fuel-wood Considering the age of the trees , the climate and nutrition of the tree it is stated in the article that a metric ton of cocoa beans produced has a consequential production of two metric tons of Fuel-wood
