LUCK IN TODAY 'S AGE

Ever wonder where one gets his luck from ? Is it really a gift from god or can one actually make his own luck ? Since childhood our parents keep telling us how we are the masters of our lives and are in a position to dictate how we go about our lives . I don 't particularly agree with that theory . My reasoning being I doubt anybody actually dictated being run over by a car and losing his legs

Luck is a weird thing . At times when all seems lost

and you are actually contemplating running away or killing yourself luck comes in and saves you from that choice . I personally think that luck has always been in my corner in every major decision of my life . I could state a number of instances when nothing but luck has saved me from a number of awkward situations . It 's the date of submission for my Algebra assignment and I happen to be perspiring in the class cursing myself for not having a dog to blame for eating the report I was supposed to do . And then due to some weird chance of fate we find out that the teacher is having a migraine attack in the faculty room and won 't be able to make an appearance to class that day . That 's perhaps only one small event in my life were I started praying to this god , which I call luck , but over the years the faith has been rewarded and I have become a preacher to its cause

People work for years and years trying to make something of their lives They go to college bearing the fees of their education while working multiple shifts at night and evenings in places which might have gotten them killed (working at a gas station at night in an unsavory neighborhood is one such job which makes even the brave tremble . They study hard for hours daily striving to get the best grades . And after so much hard work they wind up being a manager at some bank . Then we have those people who were simply born in a wealthy family , get admission into the best universities thanks to daddy 's infinite bank account and become the superiors of the hard working fellow I mentioned from the beginning of the paragraph

So why then do grown-ups and elders preach the lesson of hard work when they know it 's simply one factor of success ? The answer is that they don 't want us to become lazy . Luck could make an orphan from a miserable country into the kid of the most celebrated of all movie actors . But not everyone has luck . So all those motivational speeches , all those lectures on struggling against adversity are valid for those who don 't have a little thing called luck

Sure education is important because no matter how lucky one is I doubt he 'd be given a job for being just...
