Yes , I agree with the book 's distinction since the corporation is larger than a single individual . A corporation 's actions and behavior will affect more than a few people , but it generally affects a greater number of people that may even expand to affecting the greater society . This means that a company 's personal moral principles might dictate that there is nothing wrong with having sweatshops in China especially since they are giving jobs to a lot of people who need them , but society sees

br them as nothing more than a new form of slavery to the underprivileged and of companies taking advantage of people . In this conflict , often , if not always , society wins and shapes the way a business is run . More importantly , with society becoming more and more active as cosmopolitan members their voice is becoming greater with the backing of organizations such as Greenpeace , PETA , Amnesty International , etc . that carries with it a great amount of political weight , which could spell disaster for any business that contravenes the behavior that they deem is appropriate
