The thesis statement that Gladwell (1997 ) wanted to prove in his article was that the original advertisements of Dockers were successful enough to appeal to many men and that there are certain factors or elements that has caused this success

Likewise , there are opinions that were solicited from other people and from the standpoint of psychology to fully analyze the materials . For example , he used the Poolman ' commercial to present the elements of the advertisement

The author used the commercials of respective khaki pants and highlighted the things that make it appealing to the audience it serves There were summaries provided of the interviews that happened between the author and the makers of the advertisements . From the standpoint of the advertising team and firms , the author moved to a psychological standpoint to understand the related factors beyond marketing
