Corporate governance in China in recent years has gone over to
redeploying different management styles from the West and merges it with
the Confucian management principles of the East . This is coupled by the
increasing manpower shift to be able to get over with running an
organization or a company and be at the edge amidst several companies
seeking lucrative business in China . Many have assumed that a certain
organization cannot survive without the right strategic management
process . As each management style would be contributory in running an
organization smoothly , a specific management style could be appropriate
to a certain organization while it may not be effective to the other
group . Here we will be discussing the four management styles , their
methods and advantages , adaptability and command following certain rules
and the need for changes .
As time passes , developments within China such as adapting different
management styles and diversion to consultations happen just to be able
to level up with the advancement of the society and the technology . Some
organizations have become successful from adapting to changes and some
just simply stop from where they start . I believe that provided thwith
these facts , Sainsbury Plc would fair in just well with competition .
Going with the flow along the innovation and development especially with
technological advances put many organizations at major advantages thus
had been able to go along the rapid changes in business environment and
the corporate world .
From the invention of office machineries to the development of our
industries , companies and organizations have established control through
the use of these innovations to maximize productivity . Here , we will
focus on different management styles that can offer any possibilities
and opportunities to enhance productivity in an organization .
As workers we are used to do our responsibilities in the workplace as
according to what our bosses tell us . This style of management is what
we call the Dominator Model of management . This is in contrast with the
Partnership Model of management . Dominator model of management is based
on rigid hierarchies , fear-based and domination over low-level workers .
While the Partnership model is based on trust , with equality , flexible
leadership , nature-based spirituality and with a low degree of
antagonism .
Dominator management model is an organizational hierarchy who dominates
those who think they are subordinates to them . For example , men are
dominating women in the workplace because they generally think they are
the weaker sex the boss dominates his employees because they are his
subordinates and so on . This system falls under the
``command-and-control ' model and is inappropriate and can be
dysfunctional . It is even considered bureaucratic and provokes an
internal stress and chaos to an organization . Workers are treated like
industrial machines and consequently do not have an instinctive sense of
camaraderie and belongingness in the workplace .
