1 ) Describe strategies you will use to strengthen parental involvement in the education of your students

The primary teachers that any student should have are the parents Teachers serve only as role models outside of the school when the parents are not around to take care of their children . As such , I personally believe that parents should also try to become more involved in the education of their children

It is not an easy matter to strengthen parental involvement in the education of students and neither is it an easy matter to

convince the students that they should foster the strengthening of parental involvement . Yet as shown by many studies , a more effective teaching environment is created by including parents actively in the education process . In this same train of thought , I have certain strategies that I think can resolve these issues in to develop a better academic environment

One of the ways by which to strengthen parental involvement is by providing parents with an updated and accurate assessment of their child 's performance in school . Parents are more interested in taking part of their children 's education if they are aware of the performance of their children . If they feel that they child in underachieving , this strategy will help to inform the parents of the steps that they can take at home in to address the issue instead of scolding the child because they do not understand what is going on . Most of the academic problems of students are often related to activities in their own households . I believe that by allowing parents to see the progress of the student they can pinpoint the problem more accurately and arrive at a better solution to the problem

Another helpful strategy is by hosting more events that show teamwork between parents and their children (students . This can be accomplished in a variety of ways such as by having parent-student symposiums in to allow students to voice out their problems in a more neutral forum . This will strengthen the communication between parent and child and also increase parental involvement

Teamwork can also be fostered by parent-children (student ) activities such as in school fairs or fundraising events . This will allow parents to work with their children and see just how much they have learned from school . It will strengthen the trust that parents have for their children and in turn show them the importance of being involved in the education of their children

The main problems that lead to a decrease in parental involvement arise from the generational gap . The strategies that I have suggested try to first bridge that generational and communication gap . The second step is by creating a certain interest or involvement in the progress of the student to make the parent feel as if they are indeed making significant contributions to the education of their child
