Historical development of ancient Egyptian Civilization covers more than 3 ,000 years . This Civilization was formed in the year 4 ,000 B .C . and the epoch of its evolution can be divided into three historical periods Ancient (approx . 2 ,700 - 2 ,210 B .C , Middle (approx . 2 ,050 - 1 ,700 B .C , and New Reign (approx . 1 ,580 - 1 ,070 B .C . Correspondently there are three periods of the development of ancient Egyptian culture

Ancient Egypt was an agrarian community , population of which was

concentrated along the fertile lands of the Nile River in the Northern Africa . Their daily activities included farming , cattle breeding hunting , producing some food and trading it for the other things they could not produce . The Egyptians lived in small houses , built from mud bricks . There were definite social layers in their society , topped by a group of so called noblemen , who organized first primitive governmental structures and attempted to administer the affairs of the state

The Egyptians had quite profound knowledge in many different subjects Since the early times , they used three different kinds of calendar : the 'agricultural ' calendar for day-to-day use , an astronomical and a moon-calendar for certain rituals and events . They were very experienced medical practitioners of their epoch . Their legislation system was based on religious statements , and the norms of right also had obvious religious origins . Gods like Osiris or Maat , were taken as embodiments of justice

Even in ancient era of the development of Egyptian Civilization Egyptian women were skilled in textile manufacturing and producing garments . They used a sort of fabric , made from plant fibers , for producing clothes and linen . Their tools included knives or scissors and needles , which needed to be molded , carved or shaped . They were familiar with some elements of cosmetics and different body arts , as well as with the techniques of grinding wheat and baking bread

Ancient period of Egyptian culture can be characterized by the development of so called Sumerian Civilization with deep spiritual traditions , based on mythology . Despite of a great variety of Sumerian myths and legends , which later on transformed into fairy-tales and fables , they all can be collected into one unique system of views on life . In chaotic diversity of fantastic adventures of Gods and antic heroes , the chains of sequent evens can be detected . That 's how ancient imagination about the development of nature and society was forming

An ancient Egyptian man felt helpless in front of nature , and it made him feel thrilled with horror facing storms and imagine them as powerful and conscious creatures to worship to . Skies , lands , air were associated in human minds with big animals (for example , with bulls , later on - with human-looking creatures . Imaginations about natural forces and acts of God have been progressively transforming into the attributes of divinity (for example , the Moon became tiara of Nannar , not the God itself
