p Introduction The Gospel of Mark is the second of the New Testament gospels , which narrates the life of Jesus Christ from baptism to his resurrection Gospel of Mark is the first of the written gospels , which establishes the life of Jesus in the form of a story . It is generally considered that the main issue in the story is the way Mark presents Jesus and what it means for Jesus to be the Messiah . Disciples never came to realize the significance of Jesus ' Messianic identity . What disciples failed to understand is

now brought to the front of audience : to be a Messiah means much more then simply performing miracle and teach wisdom , there is much more to the mission of Christ , as he had to sacrifice himself for humanity to be saved (Heil , J . 2001
Another issue surrounding the Gospel of Mark is related to the synoptic problem . The first three gospels of the New Testament are very closely related . As such , the peculiarity of the gospel of Mark is that this is first genuine source of the story and mission of Jesus Christ
