Introduction

Africans , mostly women , were being treated as one of the basic commodities during the 18th and early 19th century . With the rise of commercialization on Central Africa , different individuals sought slave trading as one of the profitable business to handle on the African market . With lax government policies and regulation coming from France the colonizer of Atlantic coast of Africa , many Africans was able to perform slave trading freely . Among the slaves , women were the ones who experienced the highest sum of human deprivation and dehumanization from

br their owners . Through the testimonies of African slaves that were able to earn their freedom , one could see how cruel were the destiny that African slaves experienced on the hands of their abusing owners . To slave owners , slaves were just one of their most valuable possessions and property

African slave have different perception about the concept of freedom ' as compared to many policy makers from France and other people . Furthermore , there is more reason why most of the African slaves were African women considering the kind of concept leaving in the 18th and early 19 century regarding gender roles and gender biases . Religion played a vital role for the recovery and attainment of freedom ' of many African slaves during those times with the increasing effort coming from various religious sects to widen the influence of Christianity . In other words , the main purpose why religious sects provide support to many African slaves would be to attract the latter to become devotees of former 's religion . Many missionaries believed that through spreading Christianity in Africa would make it more civilized thus reducing the cases of slave and slave trading . At the end of the day , with the increasing number of government policies that provided enough room for many African slaves to flee and earn their freedom from their masters given the fact that the latter maltreat the former would be a very vital improvement on the history of African slave trading
