Through the years , the underlying themes and political constructs of culture is no longer identified by a well-defined geographical setting It is no longer embedded into determining ancient beliefs and traditional customs . Nowadays , culture is also articulated as a matter of choice ' and lifestyle ' At some point it deviates from the original notion that such is something that is innate ' and inherited ' Various studies and researches have shown that culture is also a product of the continuous interplay of power and economic relations

In the field of media , sociology and even psychology , a particular has taken the utmost attention and interests of many theorists and social scientists alike . This is no other than youth culture

The youth is an important segment of every existing community . It has been often argued that the future lies in the hands of these individuals . It is expected that through them the legacies of their forefathers would continue . Much of the aspirations are built on the premise that the youth of today would pursue the visions and contributions of those that came before them . Their contributions in terms of nation building , progress and development is highly integral in society . A certain degree of hysteria and pandemonium occurs whenever the youth is placed in romising situations
