of parents it is a moment of recognition that your child has the special needs . Very often parents are not ready for diagnose , that 's why they are not eager to join the program . We can meet such opinions as that early intervention into the child 's life and development is harmful and even dangerous . As , for me I truly believe that early intervention is never dangerous and if physical condition of child allows us to do it , the treatment should start from the very first weeks of the child 's life . For example , the family of three years old Ashley was in the waiting list since her birth , but started to receive the regular intervention only when Ashley was already four months . Scientists identify at least four main reasons for early providing of early children intervention services . First of all children develop intensively during the early period of their life secondly families have a right to specialize early childhood activity of their children to get them ready for receiving the same learning and social opportunities as other children , the investment into early children development programs has good economic benefits , and finally such kind of intervention makes the positive influence upon children their parents and families in general . It is important to summarize the difficulties which exist during the intervention of early childhood programs . Most of them are reasoned by children 's age , form of intervention , different kinds of disability , family 's peculiarities , and difficulties in measuring changes in children , as well as ethnic difficulties , which mostly affected by families , which are against of the allocation of children with disabilities . I suggest that effectiveness of the program depends on the factor of the program 's adaptation to needs and priorities of particular family and community That means that parents work together with the specialists providing the consultation with each other in a purpose to reach the maximum effectiveness from the course provided . For Ashley , who suffers from Trisomy 21 syndrome and myopia such cooperation between her parents and the specialists from the local day care centre , and Down Syndrome Association is highly important , because she needs the equal quality of care at home , inside her day care center and during the therapy trainings . Many of programs today offer the standard package of services ' such as weekly playgroups , therapy scheduled twice per week or home visits in particular times . Effective programs should be individualized to one child 's needs in one family...
