Writing never needs to be anything that causes anxiety or fear in the writer , because this is the surest way to guarantee that the writing will be bad ' However , the concept of a bad ' writer is something that may exist only in the heads of the anxious and the fearful . In reality , as long as a writer writes confidently , honestly , and clearly the writing will always be good . Not only does this rule apply to everyday writing , whether emails , memos , or notes , but also to proposal writing

Confidence and clarity are the

most important attributes of proposal writing . More than any other type of writing , it depends on the writer 's ability to communicate clearly , because the proposition being presented must be understood by its audience . There is little room for loquaciousness , verbosity , or superfluity of words , which are techniques often employed by that lack confidence and believe embellishment is the way to good writing . But , good writing relies not on mastery of language and obscure vocabulary , but clarity

A proposal that remains clear , honest , and communicates its message is the most any writer can hope for . Organization before writing is often a good way to ensure that the writing stays on point and focuses clearly on only its message . In proposal writing , even the writer with no confidence , a bad ' writer , gains confidence from organization techniques such as outlining , and lists , and will be better prepared for the actual writing (Matchett , 1995

The main thing for any bad ' writer is to remember there are no good or bad , only good and bad writing . As the goal of writing is to communicate , anybody who can speak can write . And as anyone that has ever had a conversation will attest , a confident , honest , and clear speaker makes for the best conversation , and any speaker that understands this can also be a good writer , whether a proposal or the great American novel
