The novel The Little Drummer Girl ' by John Le Carre had received much acclaim , and also a barrage of criticisms . Being released in the year

1984 , the movie rendition of the novel , directed by George Roy Hill , had also received many criticisms . Both novel and movie had received painful criticisms like about the plot being shaky , the characters being unconvincing , contrived subplots like the romance part of the narrative among others . What these critics fail to see is the real drama behind the plot . What the critics don 't see is that the story itself is a criticism of something happening that is prevalent but is overlooked by the whole world . The story of The Little Drummer Girl ' had shown us how marginalization according to age , class , and gender is virtually embedded in some cultures in the Middle East

The Middle East is the place where the author had set the bulk of the story of The Little Drummer Girl ' The story started with a bomb explosion that tore apart a house of an Israeli diplomat . The Mossad the intelligence agency of the state of Israel had found that a Palestinian terrorist had plotted the bomb . The signature of style in the bomb is similar to the style of the other recent bombings targeted at Israelis . The Mossad was determined to capture that Palestinian bomber that they were even willing to employ an unconventional method to defeat their enemy . They had formulated a plan that includes the kidnap of a spoiled-brat American actress named Charlie . She was made in love to an Israeli man named Joseph . She was unaware that that was just an elaborate scheme to make her join in the cause of the Israelis . As the plot develops , Charlie will be sent to a Palestinian training camp In the Palestinian training camp she would train as a soldier /agent . The tempo of the movie will rev up to full throttle when Charlie would be invited to take part in a terrorist action . Charlie would be assigned to carry a bomb that could claim many innocent lives

The Middle East is notorious for having this long history of violence In the Middle East , neighboring countries are waging war against each other for reasons that are already been forgotten by history . These rivalries could be traced to the days where only spears and swords were only used for some unnecessary war . At this present age of nuclear and biochemical weapons , these rivalries are still going against each other for reasons that even they had already forgotten .
