The Bible stated that life begun , when God exhaled life into a handful of soil . Many view this as different from the scientifically based Theory of Evolution by Charles Darwin . But these two theories could be interpreted in a way so that they will jibe with each other conclusions Theory of Evolution of Darwin was presented literally and scientifically while the Theory of Creation in the Bible was presented in connotations . The latter in the Bible , could have meant when it declared that Man was

created by God in one day ' that the one day period was the same as billions of years in our actual times . Thus , the act of exhaling in the Bible could be actually - the process of evolution thru several billion years

The theory of the Big Bang ' theorized that life started in the space some 13 .5 billion years ago . Life came out of non- living things and in the same manner , life on Earth started 4 .5 billion years ago . Pasteur in 19th century proved scientifically that life originated from non- living things . Combinations of chemical reactions , photosynthesis and other natural process produced life in the Carbon atoms

Studies showed that primates 85 million years ago , who shares the same ancestors with the bats , who lived in Africa and other parts of the earth . 40 million years ago , they How Man 3

became extinct , except in some parts of Africa . These African primates migrated some 17 millions years ago , to other continents , when they were not yet separated by water . 12 millions years ago the big apes (orangutans ) evolved . The link of evolution between ape and man has several indirect evidences . Comparing the physical features of the two , it is glaring that the arms of apes are longer than men while the legs are shorter than that of the man . These are due to the degeneration of a body part if it is not frequently used . An ape always uses his arms when swinging from branch to branch of a tree . His legs degenerated , because in the jungle , it is seldom used . The opposite is the case for man . As to intelligence , we could observe that slaves act differently from their masters . But it is a fact that they have the same size of brains . Again the reason for this is the frequent use of mental faculty by man as compare to the ape
