a time when I was asked to defend same sex marriage in contrast to heterosexual marriage . I was asked to present pertinent information and data in to convince the audience that there is nothing wrong with gay marriage , thus , it should be given recognition parallel to that of heterosexual marriages . First , I presented the issues and discussed why gay marriages are frowned upon by the society I stressed that most people find such unions annoying because it goes against public policy , decency and morality . I also touched on the issue of procreation indicating that most religious advocates believe that marriage is intended for procreation . Due to the biological limitations of gays and lesbians they cannot procreate together with their partners They can only do such act , if they copulate with someone from the opposite sex .
