EFFECTIVE FOREGN POLICY Foreign policy of any nation is a reflection of diplomatic stand of a country as whole towards the happenings /well being of other countries In to implement successful foreign policy , it has to be developed by experienced politicians and it needs to be transparent and uniform Moreover it needs to be changed from time to time . Normally these policies are determined by the political systems existing in that country . For example a communist country will have a policy that would nurture communism , a democratic one would nurture democratic values

and so on . It would be interesting to take a stock of Indian foreign policy as an example
Being a democratic country the policy mainly revolves around freedom of expression , human rights and communal harmony and neutrality towards other religions .Accordingly sovereignty and equality of all nations , fostering cordial relations with other countries and resolving conflicts by peaceful means . The Ghandian philosophy had always been the core of the Indian policy . Accordingly India had always been a very strong advocate of Non Align Movement , y . Also India has sent peace keeping forces to many nations at request of UNO . The policy has immensely contributed towards global peace . Also anti apartheid stand of India is very well known and appreciated . This has an interesting analogy with US foreign policy and South African policy .
