The main purpose of this thesis is to examine closely pertinent workplace conditions and how they affect workplace productivity Relevant studies can attest to the relationship between workplace conditions , job satisfaction as well as employee motivation

Furthermore , the study intends to establish the idea that the presence of what may be described as an ideal ' working environment does not necessarily yield highly motivated employees given that other pressing conditions tend to undermine workplace productivity as well . Likewise the study seeks to examine the role of an employee motivation system conceived by Frederick Herzberg and other professionals , as a vital component of increased workplace efficiency

Part of this study involves a brief probe into what is called as the Matthew Effect ' which is often observed from most employee appraisal system . The study pursues to delve into (1 ) factors that affect the system of rating by supervisors and managers that are often inclined to hold biases to the benefit of favored employees and (2 ) the grouping of employees into clusters called in-groupers who are the recipients of supervisor favors and the out-groupers who shoulder the brunt of criticisms from managers

Apart from employee evaluation , the thesis attempts to assess the failure of management to provide a healthy employee-employer relationship . A human resource case is presented to illustrate how the disregard of the workforce 's welfare by management becomes a critical factor to employee unrest . This would serve as a case in point a contributory factor in the volatile employee-employer relationship Adding fuel to an already shaky situation is the exit interview of the Junior Officer in Abu Dhabi Police Department presented in the human resource case

Likewise discussed in the thesis are solutions to appease worker 's plight that are guaranteed to increase productivity levels . Solution number one involves a study of the utter failure of a system to prevent unfair employee evaluation practices , as it tends to influence organizations of its hopeless display of defects...
