Workplace Training , Adult Education Lifelong Learning An Applied Study on Human Resource Development Executive Summary The present study focuses on the HRD practices which support workplace training , adult learning and lifelong education . These practices were clustered into recruitment , training , organization development , and compensation and benefits . The objectives then are two-prong . First , the study intended to determine which practices were successful . In addition , the study aimed to ascertain which practices were associated with business performance . Primary data were gathered through a self-constructed questionnaire which was administered to 90 employees who

were purposively sampled from various industries . The present research suggests that the HRD practices of recruitment , training organization development and compensation and benefits functions need to be improved further as they were all rated neutrally by the respondents The second objective of the study aimed to determine which HRD practices were correlated to business performance . This was done through the help of a quantitative approach , which employed the use of a survey administration process and the participation of 90 respondents . Based on the results incurred , it was found that the various HRD practices which support training , adult education , and lifelong learning were correlated to perceived business performance . Specifically , it was found that training , organization development , and compensation and benefits practices which support workplace training , adult education and lifelong learning were all significantly and positively correlated with the perceived financial health of the organization .
