Research indicates that in long working hours are on the rise across the globe of which the experience gotten from UK and Europe suggest that its rise is associated with increased workload and that the demands at work overshadows other life demands creating an imbalance . Thus there is increased concern of the quality of life especially in the family and community . There is a deteriorating life aspects of the community linked to increased wealth , single parenting , family life being privatized and insufficient resources and facilities that support family care services

Women are in particular having great problems relating to work imbalance because they are more involved in paid work more than previously . The demands of work and its pressures have impacted significantly the quality of family time in the society . For instance long working hours fatigue and working over weekends and evening have reduced family time dramatically . T6his has brought a direct consequence to increased child crimes , abuse of drugs , less care to the disadvantaged and elderly people . It has caused decline in working professionals from participating in non work activities .
