The Role of the Women in 9th Century The broad , chaotic collection of stories known throughout the Arab-speaking world known as the Thousand and One Nights is a Middle Eastern literary epic changed over a long period of time , and it is not possible to say just when does one story in that collection was exactly written . The prologue of the introduce to us the teller of the story of a Sassanid Queen named Sheherazade who must tell a story to her husband (the king ) for one thousand and one nights to delay her

execution . She really plan to be the kings wife in to save all the women in their kingdom . Because the king doesn 't want to be fooled again by a woman He instructed his servant to give him a wife everyday and after wards they must be executed after serving as his wife . This happened because the king found her queen to have a lover and sentenced them to be executed and them from then on , he wishes to have one wife a day
Sheherazade then told his King stories of different types of woman . In the first parts of her stories . She describe her woman characters as cunning , treacherous , and unfaithful
The first two characters Shahrazad 's story are cunning . The first was the foolish wife of the tailor who stick a bone in the hunchback 's mouth , she quickly takes charge of the situation . And this style of cunningness go on in the tales of the barber 's brothers . The first brother come upon the landlord 's spouse was described as `bad ' and `sneaky ' and the others encountered an old woman enticed and tortured them . This sample of deception among the women is similar to the treachery of the Queens , not to Shahrazad
One of the story in this book was The Lady and her Five Suitors (A Thousand One Night ,
. 213 ) was a story of an unfaithful merchants wife who fell in love with a young handsome man . This man was put into prison and the woman thought of an idea how she will help this man out of prison . He talked t a carpenter make him a cabinet and in return he was allowed to visit her in her house . He also talked to the Cadi , the Vizier , the Chief , the King asking each of them a favor and in return allowing them visit her in her house . Since it was customary for party guests to put on special garments supplied by the host . Those men were all found naked inside the cabinet made by the carpenter after the woman tricked them into entering in their after getting the letter saying his beloved man can be freed from prison . This story stands out to show how a brave woman manages to expertly deceive her would-be lovers by developing her own one of a kind defense against sexual harassment
