The military is heavily dependent on the shared risks among colleagues Yet , the same kind of risk , when women are involved could disrupt the military-protective function (North , para 1 . It is this aspect that remains to be the last bastion of male supremacy . Women have been conquering this area , but not rightly so . In fact , this posits that women should not be in the military , especially sent to war because there are a lot of complications and repercussions when the women decides otherwise

glaring reasons why women should not be in the military is the possibility of being sent to war . Women are used to being protected . Some of them have not even held a gun . And while war has become more technological in recent years , physical strength is not yet irrelevant . Men are also aggressive (though not necessarily meaner . War is horrible and the strongest , hardest and most aggressive men have to be out there in the battlefield , not the women

In the early years of philosophy , men were basically the thinkers and no ordinary woman dared to deviate from the norms of society by challenging these men . The roles of women as housekeepers and caring wives and mothers were justified in a manner condescending to the whole population of women . Aristotle was the first to posit that women are not as rational as men , noting women 's more emotional nature . Kant agreed with this , theorizing that women lack civil personality ' that they must only be kept within the confines of home life . Rousseau , another well-known scholar , expressed his opinion that men possess the traits suited for leadership and other grandiose roles . This generally aided in typecasting women to the feminine roles known to us now

Yet the same women being looked down were the same women , who performed domestic duties to the dot , after toiling for 12 hours or more in factories , mines , households , farms , or anywhere they could work for a payment much lesser than what men get . Despite the uncanny ability to work amidst harsh conditions , and the docility to accept women discrimination , scores of women still remained as progressive-thinking individuals . Many , especially the middle-class women , knew that they were overworked at their homes and workplaces , and yet enjoyed few political and economic freedom and opportunities

The raging feminist movement in the 1960s and 1970s rebelled from this stereotyping . Zealous feminists during those times believed that women are just compelled to conform to their roles because society molded them to do so . Every trait , therefore , was viewed as indoctrinated and acquired . Soon enough the idea that nature has a part in creating the society were wholly rejected . It was after studying society alongside evolution that the thought of nature shaping gender traits , particularly social and psychological ones , is reconsidered .
