This seeks to delve into the challenges that have faced women in pursuit of careers in law enforcement and whether such challenges have been overcome to bring equality with their male counterparts Furthermore , other factors that boost the employment rates in police departments will be examined together with the various benefits that necessitate the involvement of women in police work . The will also strive to learn from past

research but also offer opinion on some issues in a bid to present a cohesive discourse on this issue

Introduction

Women have had to fight on so many fronts in to be recognized as equals in society . This battle however has not been fully won though immense progress has been made over time to redress the problem of male chauvinism and female discrimination . Gone are the days when society looked at women as been fit only for household chores and bearing children . Women are increasingly achieving monumental success in society and such achievements are going a long way towards providing that they are not a weaker sex and that there is nothing that men can do that they can 't
