There are two nagging issues that pose difficult challenges to global communities and international relations . These two issues are the ongoing anti-terrorism campaign led by the United States and the growing global concern over nuclear proliferation . The US-led anti-terror efforts , which successfully gained the cooperation of other nations , had already brought down a sovereign state , which is Iraq . However , there are various negative repercussions of this

global campaign , such as the alteration of the face of international law , the obvious disregard of the rule of the United Nations in time of global conflict , the growing terror activities in the Arab world , the worsening relations between Palestine and Israel , which created tensions in the Middle East , among many others

On the other hand , issues concerning nuclear proliferation was recently sparked by the nuclear testing activities of North Korea , which according to the United States and other first world countries , is a growing threat to global peace and harmony . There is no doubt that these two global issues are interrelated with and interdependent upon each other , with the same dominant actors and the same purpose - the achievement of a peaceful and terror-free international community However , it appears that there are a lot of obstacles to the possible cooperation among nations to tackle peace efforts and unity
