Why is Europe such a divisive issue in British poletics ?
Maastricht Treaty and other treaties since 1992 ,have further raised a debate among politicians in Britain . The current Lisbon treaty also created a hot debate in the United Kingdom The politics of Europe has divided the parliament into the anti-Europe camp and Pro-Europe camp , signifying a crucial debate in what shapes the British polity , foreign policies to mention but a few . The issue of sovereignty as against the free market economy of the EU , which allows more integration , the consequence loosing sovereignty is another crucial motive , British refusal to join the
