Why Adoption of Children by Homosexuals is Wrong

Although most people in our society today have come to accept homosexuality , there is still much debate on whether or not homosexuals should be allowed to adopt . I strongly believe that homosexuals should not be allowed to adopt children because the homosexual lifestyle will be against the best interest of the child . Studies show that homosexuals are emotionally and sexually unstable parents . This has negative effects on the child 's perception of self , which psychologists say leads to an inability to define such child

's gender roles . Finally being adopted by homosexual parents exposes the adopted child to homophobic bullying

Homosexual couples should not be allowed to adopt as studies show that homosexuals are emotionally and sexually unstable parents . Homosexuals have negative effects on the child 's perception of self and leads to an inability to define such child 's gender roles . According to a study conducted by Dr . Timothy J . Dailey , the average male homosexual will have hundreds of sex partners in his lifetime . and those who have multiple sex partners do not provide a good atmosphere for raising children (Dailey , 2006 . Dr . Dailey points out that parents who have multiple sex partners are not good role models because their behavior leads a child to believe that having unsafe sex with many people is normal . For a child to grow up healthy , it is therefore important to provide an environment that is as normal ' as possible , leading to the conclusion that exposure to an environment where a parent constantly changes partners affects a child 's perception of the ideal relationship Bradley Hayton supports Dr . Dailey 's argument , saying that homosexuals teach that monogamy in a marriage is not the norm [and] should be discouraged if one wants a good `marital ' relationship (Hayton , 1993 meaning that children raised by homosexuals are likely to grow up confused about their own sexuality . This skewed view of relationships and sexuality that children from homosexual families experience may not be obvious from the beginning , but its destructive effect becomes visible later on when the children do not have a stable parental example to follow

It is plain to see that children benefit more in a traditional two-parent environment - that is , having a mother and a father , and this failure to provide for gender roles for children raised by homosexual couples is yet another reason why allowing homosexual couples to adopt children is against a child 's best interest . Children from traditional two-parent households do better academically , financially , emotionally and behaviorally , as they make more right choices as compared to others Dr . Sotirios Sarantakos , in his study comparing school performance of children raised by homosexual couples to children raised by heterosexual parents , said that children of homosexual households scored lower in verbal skills , vocabulary , composition , and basic mathematics , were less likely to be involved with sports and other group activities and were regarded by their teachers as introverts and loners (Sarantakos 1996 . Children need the balance of...
