Introduction

Exposure to chemicals by workers is against the provisions of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA (Bergeson , 2000 , 81 . Owing to the increase in areas that have come under the use of sprays of different kinds for different purposes , measures have been put in place to ensure that those who are found guilty of negligence in handling chemicals are dealt with in accordance to the law

. Pesticides are the most common sprays used on agricultural farms with the results that there has been a surge in pesticide drift . Accordingly , the Pesticide Drift Exposure Response Act is specifically aimed at helping limit exposure to pesticide drift . Under this law , pesticide drift is illegal because every farm worker has the right to be protected from such chemical drifts even if it means stopping the worker from entering the affected areas (Reeves et al , 1999 , 8

Discussion

In the case of the Farm Worker 's Union , both the industry and the government have failed in their legal responsibility to protect the workers on farms affected by pesticide drift . The industry is committing a crime by failing to take appropriate measures to resolve the problem and instead continues to operate normally (Bergeson , 2000 , 82 .
