WHETHER OR NOT PRAYERS SHOULD BE DONE IN SCHOOL

Introduction

Prayers are a part of the human life and therefore they should be allowed in schools . The 1960s interpretation of the constitution by the Supreme Court that United States should be neutral in religious practice exposed the world that Americans , in practice of their freedom and individual liberty , can be the worst heathens in the world . The court supported the interpretation of the constitution arguing that government sponsored prayers and bible reading in schools denied other religious groups like the Jews

, Muslims , Hindus , and others their freedom of worship since they were forced to participate in Christian prayers (S Grossman , 2001 M . McMahon , 1995 . However banning of prayers did not come with an alternative way like allowing voluntary prayers where students would be allowed to participate in silent prayers according to their religious beliefs . Allowing prayers in school does not discriminate others students but it gives them a room to practice their religious belief . Banning prayers in schools is wrong and it cultivates unreligious attitude in our children . The federal government should support the change of our constitution in to all practice on individual religious belief in voluntary prayer like it is in other countries . We are all religious in nature and since prayers are a part of our religious life , they should be allowed in schools
