Les Maotres Fous

Jean Rouch 's documentary film entitled Les Maotres fous ' discussed the current situations of the African-Americans in Accra , one of the communities in Africa . The people there are not just ordinary people dealing with uncertainties in life but they have extra ordinary rituals that embody their present lifestyle . Haukas are called to the people who obtained the special ritual . This is mot just a simple ritual because there are certain characters and possessions that needs to be taken place

before the traditional culture becomes successful . From this film it can be said that the journey of Haukas is not like dealing with the normal lives of their society because they symbolize the historical political , economic , and social events in their country

The concept of `others ' in this film played a significant role because the Haukas do not portray normal characters in their rituals but the important people who are now dead . The government palace where the Haukas used to come is the most important part of their ritual . In the beginning of the ritual , the sinned Haukas released their transgressions to show the other Haukas that they are resenting from those acts . After a long process of forgiving and baptism , the Haukas started to become possessed by the important people during the colonization in 19th century
