This describes a culture before and After the Medieval times . It focused on the epic Beowulf and describes the Anglo-Saxon culture and Empire . This will show how the epic , Beowulf , demonstrates the Anglo-Saxon culture and what it takes to be an Anglo-Saxon Warrior The Anglo-Saxons is a group of different Teutonic tribes like the Angles , Jutes and the Saxons . These tribes are headed by chieftains kings ' or lords , who gain respect from their warriors . These three different tribes have distinct characteristics . These tribes were believed to be from Scandinavia and

Northern Europe and move from one place to another , using boats , with the hope of finding a place that they can call their home . The Angles were the tribe that is known to be protected by the nature- particularly the forest and the rivers and are known to be worshipper of the Earth Goddess Nerthus . The land where the Angles settled is known today as England (Stuart , 2006

Anglo-Saxons were introduced as pagans when they came to Britain . They worship nature and religion was only a means to gain material wealth Anglo-Saxon society was divided to social classes - the king , being the highest , and the two levels of freemen - the upper and lower class Slavery was very rampant during this period . It has also been adopted by Anglo-Saxon culture . During free time , people are engaged in dice and board games as a form of leisure . Traveling from one place is just common because they travel for business purposes
