Fresh from its victories , the Roman Empire sustained its expansion into neighboring countries , especially annexing Asia Minor , Greece and part of North African coast ROMAN EMPIRE 2nd century was termed as the period of the Five Good Emperors apart from the leadership of Antonine dynastic . The emperors of this period were Trajan (98 to 117 , Hadrian (117 to 138 , Antonius Pius (138 to 161 ) and Marcus Aurelius (161 to 180 ) each was the was the predecessor of

the of the throne as the empire . The real reason for the lasting success of the adoptive method of succession is the last emperor had a natural heir . The period of the five good emperors was cut down by Commodus from 180 to 192 who was the son of Marcus Aurelius . Thus making him the first direct successor in the century
During the 3rd Macedonian war , Rome was particularly dissatisfied by with the lack of support they have received from the Greeks . They removed the leadership class of cities they felt had been too far from the territory and installing local politician who were loyal to Rome Greek opposition to Rome intensified resulting to the destruction of Corinth completely under the leadership of Lucius Mummius . They killed all men sold all the women and children to slavery and moved all movable goods within the city to Rome . Romans were very defensive when their territories were concerned

Roman Empire in history had the powerful leaders in the world starting from the Alexander the great to Pope Leo II who lead the Carolingian empire 476 AD . They seize large territory for power and fame since the world in those days was divided into empires such as the Han empire ,Roman empire etc . they had very strong militia elements within the their territories which made them very strong
