Concentrating on the changes positive and negative , in the status of women , present a brief overview In your opinion , what caused the secondary status of women throughout this period of history Women during the early stages of the western civilization enjoyed a type of liberty and status that was far from being acceptable . During those periods , women were treated as inferior to men especially after the mythological myths

about deities and goddesses seized recognition and acceptance
Among the many reasons was that along with the birth or reasoning and logic during the rise of the philosophers especially that of Aristotle people adapted the belief that women were incomplete in some way . They were treated as unfinished men . Generally , through a biased perception using logic and prejudiced reasoning , men have equated women as the providers of the substance of being human the soil upon which the men or the sower ' will embed their seeds of intellect , skills and other traits that provides the form of being human
Such philosophy continued with Aquinas as he emphasized what was written in the Bible- that the first woman was created only out of the ribs of the first man . As such , the thoughts that women were made as a subject of men continued through the development of Christianity . Also , women who continued to worship Mother Nature were treated as Satanists or witches , and were then burned on steaks or worse . Women were moreover treated as secondary human beings when men gained power in Churches and in States . They were deliberately denied of equality in all aspects of living not until the French Revolution in 1787 came
Such revolution demanded for human rights- not only of men but for all citizens . It was in 1787 when Condorcet , a philosopher , established a treatise that pointed out that women have the same natural rights as that of men . However , even after that revolution , women who have devoted their lives in defending women 's rights have been regarded as those who adhere to social deviance . As such , most of them were beheaded and /or publicly humiliated 7 . Philosophical inquiry is said to have begun with the Greeks . Is this true ? Why , or why not ?
