In my own view I would define marketing as the primary management activities that are concerned in the direction of the business activities that are responsible in converting the existing purchasing power into effective demand . In a nut shell it 's basically all the activities that are involved in moving goods and services from the point of production to the point of consumption in a way that meets the needs and wants of the consumer and also meets the companies goals-profitability
