Various American literary pieces have been portraying about the backward , racial , ignorant , and unjust ways of the Old South even before the civilization of the American people . The issue on prejudice and discrimination is a long debated issue which remains a problem even until now (Kelley Lewis 2005

Nevertheless , I do believe that now is the time to eliminate and remove the stereotyping among the Blacks since they had already proven that they have also place in the beautiful land of America . The Blacks should

br not be treated as individuals who can only assume menial jobs such as domestic servants , sharecroppers , maritime workers , farmers and common laborers . There are many Africans who already proved their worth in the different fields such as literature , music , acting , and even politics President Barrack Obama , the 44th president of the United States and the first African to hold the position , is only one of the living testimonies that Black Americans can also compete in the world just like what the Whites can do . Billie Holiday , Ella Fitzgerald , Michael Jackson and many others are still internationally-acclaimed until now because of the legacy they have left in the world in terms of jazz and music . They are Black Americans but they have competed and defeated other races and became popular because of their talents and passion in music
