Week 6 Consumer Behav

Consumer Behavior

Media commercials play an important part in increasing advertising mileages for products . To evaluate the degree of effectiveness of these ads and to know relative consumer behaviors , an analysis of the Pepsi TV ad was made

The ad in reference is the commercial in which a young boy intentionally dispensed two Coke cans out of the vendo machine and used them as platforms to press the Pepsi button . To know some consumer based understanding , an informal survey using two respondents was employed

Based on the reaction of the surveyed

individuals , both of them have already seen the TV ad . Primarily , they do recall the brand Pepsi because of the humorous appeal which the commercial projected . This is in light of the heavy competition between Coca Cola and the Pepsi Company (Estes , 2006 . The ad induced an amazement factor on the part of the public since both brands were exposed in a single TV ad

In terms of consumer effect , the communication aspect of the TV ad seems to be very effective in a way that it induced positive commercial factor for the two respondents . Both agreed that they like the commercial very much . However , only one of them had the product of the ad owner , Pepsi . The other respondent delegated that he has been a loyal Coca-Cola product drinker and that the commercial didn 't actually influenced his preference . He only admired the communication and presentation value of the TV plug

As their personal interpretation , the two individuals both agreed that the main message of the ad is that Pepsi outshines the other brand even in very small day-to-day acts . They said that the use of a child in the commercial promoted the aspect of innocent preference without any capitalism bias , therefore helping Pepsi to maintain an edge over the market competitors

In summary , the humorous Pepsi ad achieved its goal in catching the attention of the consumers . However , the only way to measure the effectiveness of the campaign lies solely on market numbers
