The Group and Groupthink (3 ) Among the five issues , I see communication and cohesiveness as two of the most common issues . These two are interrelated with each other and have a close tie that they share in for a group to succeed Though individuality and the role that each one play is equally vital in a team , camaraderie and harmony within a group is also important Being a team , one cannot function without the other , therefore it is important that the team employ an effective communication network amongst the members . Proper communication is

a factor into building and strengthening cohesiveness in a group . If a group understands the tasks and roles that each one plays , it will become easier to bond within a team and create a link amongst them that shall benefit the team . For certain people who do not value , communication and cohesiveness in a team , they are those who would not wish to be employed in teams . For their inaptness in communicating with a team and creating harmonious relationship with them , will become a hindrance and shall be detrimental to their individual performances (4 ) The rational model employs the most economic way of decision making process . It employs procedures that is founded on the basis of objectivity . It operates on assessing the advantages and disadvantages of each of the choices and from there creating judgment on which is the best and will possibly most benefit the organization . However , as the model takes into account objectivity of the choice , it leaves no room for consideration of biases and personal judgment (Lahti . For example on a business proposal where you are left with two choices - the first one offers better quality of the products and services , however the one you 're dealing with is a products are inferior to that of the other , but someone who you knew better . Using the rational model for decision making , one may come into choosing the former , because it will offer better services rather than taking into account the biases in favor of someone you knew better regardless of the inferiority of services he could offer (5 ) The pitfall assigned is about groupthink and I am to answer this question individually
The symptoms of groupthink are when (a ) there is an illusion of invulnerability and excessive optimism (b ) rationalizing warnings that challenge the group 's assumptions (c ) unquestioned belief that tends members to ignore the consequences of their actions (d ) stereotyping other groups as weak (e ) pressures any member who questions the group (f ) self censorship of ideas (g ) illusion of unanimity and (h self-appoint members who shield the group from dissenting information (Janis 1972 ,
