Third , the teacher must continually assess the students ' progress through oral and written exams and relate the reading to prior experiences of both the child , his or her classmates and the teachers themselves . Fourth , the teacher must know and use variety in her way of teaching children to read . Fifth , the teacher can provide many instructional materials and texts for the children to read . Sixth teacher can tailor her teaching methods to individual aptitudes and intelligence as well as speed of learning of the students (Birch , 2002 In this regard , teachers must motivate children to read and even encourage them to spend more time learning to read at home , in the school library and inside the classroom proper . Seventh , the teacher must literally go out of his or her way to help fulfill the high expectations of parents and society that the children learn to read (Hiebert , 2002 . In line with this , the teachers must spend more time and go that extra mile to help children who are slow learners Eight , the teachers must realize that reading development starts well before children enters the classroom and that reading will continue throughout the child 's school years and after graduation . Ninth , the teachers must see themselves as lifelong learners because every year there different students with different reading needs . Tenth , the teachers must supply their students with a solid reading materials base and extensive supervised practice . Eleventh , legislators , school administrators and policymakers should understand complicated but necessary role that the teachers do in molding students to become useful members of society in the future . Finally , the parents , the community and the teachers must join hands to their unified gold of giving the learners various and adventurous ways to explore , practice , and develop literacy

The teachers can easily motivate children to read . First , the teacher must a mindset that the children will successfully know how to read . Second , the teacher should also expect that her or his goal that the children will be able to read and write successfully . Third , in case the child does not have that eagerness to learn to read , the teacher can meet with the parents for an all cornered approach to helping the child to read .
