The problem of water pollution has seeped into every corner of the globe . This is because of the fact that the different regions of the Earth share the same body of water and is isolated with its own source of water . Indeed , with the fact that water is a common domain the problem of water pollution will also be a common problem for everyone

According to Hart (2007 , water pollution is defined as the contamination of streams , lakes , underground water , bays , or oceans by substances harmful to living things ' From the foregoing statement , it involves both the water in the surface and from below , in all sizes , in all shapes , and in all territories of the Earth . It also involves the introduction of substances which prove to be harmful to the health of human beings and is therefore considered as a pollutant

It is deemed necessary to identify the sources of problem for water pollution , which are the water pollutants . The good news is that the sources of problem , which are the water pollutants , ensures that something could be done and is within the grasp of people . While there may be natural forces that result to water pollution , a big chunk still comes from us , human beings . The very second man wakes up to the last minute before he dozes off to deep sleep , water is used . While some of the household and industrial wastewater may go through proper waste treatment , a large part of it goes back to its original source and results to water pollution . The major sources of water pollution include the industrial sectors , mining sector , agricultural lands , households and domestic wastes ( Pollution

The effects of water pollution do not exclude anyone . From a general point of view , water pollution affects the accessibility to safe drinking water ( Jaws V : Angry but Enfeebled . Unfortunately , it has the greatest impact on the vulnerable groups such as the poor and the elderly for they have lesser means of treating water , especially with the increasing cost for such . It is necessary for people to do something because , similar to a Frisbee , it comes back to hit the public 's health and has the greatest effect on the disadvantaged people and people who does not have the capacity to avail of clean and safe water . It should be everybody 's concern and should be a concerted effort . There should be no more waiting for the right time for every second is the right moment...
