In history of humankind , war memorials were built to mark the victory Memorials to remember those who died in war were of little concern and occurred only as a secondary option . Indeed , some of these memorials in Paris and London do not contain the names of those who died in war . It was only by the end of 19th century when war memorials were erected in commemoration of those who died in war . Currently the war memorials are for sometimes honoring the

warriors of war . In some cases they may act as a point of interest (focal point ) in to gain more understanding of the enemies of the present and those of previous times . During the 1st World War , there were much loss of lives and therefore nations erected the monuments . In Second World War , the memorials were further enlarged and they could include the names of those who died in the war
