SU USeptember 22 , 2008 Book Review War and the Soul B BB BB BB B War and the Soul R RB BIn the book , A AWar and the SoulA A (2005 ) author Edward Tick gives us an interesting look into war and the traumatic effects that are American veterans endure in their daily lives . After reading this wonderful and enlightening book , I realize that many of the people who walk around me , each day suffer depressing thoughts about the events that they witnessed during wartime and it makes me think twice before not saying hello to a person , knowing that the price that they paid for my freedom was the cost of living as an ordinary individual who had never known the hardships and cruelty that war brings B BEdward Tick gave me an excellent detailed map of what living through war was like for war veterans . I feel that his exemplary service to veterans is greatly appreciated and I realize that he has helped so many with his writing and his skills B BA AWar and the SoulA A is many pages of healing for those who read . I can only imagine how far his words and wisdom will reach out , knowing that there are still so many veterans who suffer from PTSD (post traumatic stress dis ) and will learn to cope by reading TickA As writing . The author was successful in teaching how to relive events that are painful and how to learn from those stressful occurrences . ThereA As not too many books that IA Ave read that have given this type of information and it seems that Edward Tick has spent much of his life studying this very subject and devoting his time to mentally hurt veterans who need to learn how to cope and survive the horrid effects that war brings B BThe author challenges those who suffer from war to get closer to the pain that is inside them and teaches them how to bring their pain to the surface and deal with the problems that they endure from day to day that pertain to war . Tick offers a guide that is enriching and empowering and I realize that with this type of writing , that there are many more ways to deal with PTSD . Tick suggests that war will always be with...
