Los Angeles is one of the largest states in the United states with a large population that seems to increase every . The current research which approximates the population of the county to hit 11 .5 million by the year 2010 implies that there is going to be a tremendous increase in the demand of water which directly results to increased price of the resource4 . The rainfall of the area which has not been high due to its geographical

position is also decreasing . This implies that water in the reservoirs that serve the county also is reducing . The reduction in supplies of water and the increase in its demand call for measures to be taken that will ensure constant supply to the residents . In an effort to resolve this crisis , one of the proposed solutions would be for the Local Water District to employ methods that would ensure water conversation and its use . These methods could be regulatory or market based

Justification

Loa Angeles is an urban area and the populations will always be on the increase . Water supply however has limits and can not be easily increased . In to ensure constant supply and in future , the Local Water District should consider applying water conservation and use as it controls the way the residents use water and encourages them to use water responsibly .
