Could you include subs on essential hypertension , atheroembolic disease and thrombotic microangiopathy Cheers . Sean Jones . Vascular Causes of Renal diseases Any disease that involves the kidney would most probable affect with its normal functioning . Some of the diss that affect the kidney include Atheroembolic renal disease , Acute arterial occlusion - kidney

Renal artery stenosis , renal vascular hypertension , Renal vein thrombosis , essential hypertension , etc
Atheroembolic renal disease (AERD ) is a condition in which the small blood vessels of the kidney get inflamed . This condition is closely related to atherosclerosis (characterised by the deposition of fat cholesterol , etc , within the blood vessels and resulting in narrowing of the lumen through which the blood flows . In AERD , the plaque that form within the lumen , tend to break off easily and block the tiny blood vessels present in the kidney (arterioles . The tissues of the kidney get inflamed and as such the entire kidney organ suffers from decreased blood supply . In a severe form of AERD , the individual can suffer from acute kidney failure . AERD can occur especially in several such as atherosclerosis of the aorta , aortic surgery , cardiac catheterisation etc . The presence of several risk factors such as age , poor diet sedentary lifestyle , etc , may increase the risk of AERD . The individual can develop several symptoms including pain in the feet , pain in the abdomen , hepatitis , pancreatitis , blindness , strokes , pain the flank presence of blood in the urine , proteinuria , high blood pressure , etc Some individuals can also develop kidney failure and may develop symptoms such as nausea , vomiting , loss of appetite , weight loss decrease in urination , oedema , skin rashes , itching , confusion weakness , lethargy , etc (Mushnick , 2005 Acute arterial occlusion is a condition in which the blood supply to kidneys is suddenly and seriously affected as the arties get blocked Any slight reduction in the blood supply to the kidney has serious consequences . In the presence of certain conditions such as trauma to the abdomen or the back , the blood clots formed travel to the tiny arteries of the kidney and get lodged . They tend to block the blood supply . Individuals with certain conditions such as heart diss mitral stenosis , atrial fibrillation , etc , are at a higher risk of developing this dis . The individual can develop a range of symptoms such as abdominal pain , decreased or sudden stoppage of urine output , back pain , presence of blood in the urine , flank pain , etc . The consequences are especially severe if both the kidneys are involved (Silberberg , 2007
Renal artery stenosis is a condition in which the arteries that supply blood to the kidneys get narrowed down leading to obstruction in the blood flow . In turn Renal artery stenosis can be caused by a number of conditions such as atherosclerosis , atheroembolic renal disease fibromuscular dysplasia...
